The University of Texas College of Fine Arts

Thank you for your interest in applying to the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music. This form is available for all applicants to the School. If you are already a student at UT-Austin, please see our main admissions page. 

In order to apply to the Butler School of Music, you must have completed your application to the University of Texas at Austin, and you must have a UT EID and password. If you have not yet applied to the University, you should do so now at www.bealonghorn.com. We are currently accepting applications for only the following semesters:
fall 2010

*The BSoM is unable to accept spring applications for flute, voice and trumpet.

Undergraduate Applicants

Applying to the UT-Austin Butler School of Music is easy and can be completed in just a few minutes. After you have begun your application you may save your progress and return later. You may make changes to your responses until your application is submitted. Once you have submitted you application, you must contact the Undergraduate Office by email if you need to revise any of your information. Before you begin, please be sure that you have all necessary information available, including standardized test scores (ACT and/or SAT), your high school name and dates of attendance, and any information on your musical background you wish to include, such as ensemble participation and important solo performances.

After your application has been submitted, a message will appear telling you your application is complete and listing any supplemental materials required for your requested degree. If you are able to edit your information, your application is not complete and will not be considered.

Graduate Applicants

Applicants for Graduate Studies to the Butler School of Music do not need to submit a separate application in addition to their application to UT, however many graduate programs require an audition.
